Can anyone tell me how a BBR kit works ? and are these worth fitting ? Can they be used in conjunction with a MBC ?

lotuselan4455,
I don't have a BBR kit, however I've seen bits of them. As far as I am aware it comprises two components: an electronic box of tricks and an orifice (several different sizes are provided) which is inserted into the 3mm pipe between the turbo wastegate and the ?BSV.
Although you'd expect the electronics to be the part which gives the extra boost, it's not. All the electronics do is negate the ECU's automatic fuel cut-out defence. The bit which actually gets you the extra power is the little metal orifice. In other words the BBR kit is a fixed MBC with a FCD.
Are these worth fitting ? In my opinion, no. Better to buy a Mountain chip which retains all the ECU's defences and is a much more elegant solution to getting extra power from the Elan. It is also much, much cheaper than a BBR kit.
Can they be used in conjunction with a MBC ? As far as I am aware, the BBR kit is an MBC, albeit a non-adjustable one.

If you send an undamaged kit back within 30 days, for any reason, you'll get a full refund minus postage & packing costs. All UK orders are sent recorded delivery.
could it possibly be a better deal?
will be safer and more perfect an upgrade than any MBC or BBR ever wished to be.
