I was just telling Rambo that my seals looked crap but never leaked.

Yes, of course that's what I meant!
They seem to appear fine on my home PC.
Perhaps it's got something to do with the network at work.
Oh well, back on topic...

So what reg CRX did they come off?

Great work, dromong.

If you can get some more details that would be great. I expect there will be a number of Elaners heading for Honda dealers once we know what to get.

I expect the parts will be less than Lotus's £122 per side as well.

Sorry ive taken so long to reply folks, not had internet access, anyway the details of the seals are...not from a CRX!,But from a Renault 19 16v convertible  ,ive tried pricing them at main dealer but they require a reg number .
Ive only managed to find one in a breakers yard but there must be a few around.
Fitting is not difficult, its just a matter of cutting the top and bottom to suit and making it tidy where it meets the hood(sikaflex is your friend here  ).
The bottom of the seal is flat, which makes it perfect for trimming to size and making a hole for the plastic securing stud.Any water running down will be in the channel above the stud.

Here is a picture of the bottom...

...or could you say 'I didn't bring the car today because it looked like rain and the seals are knackered ;)'

Does anyone have the part numbers?

Damned good find, by the way.

The one i found was L plated,so thats means it could be the early or late model(aug93-aug94).

I dont think it really matters as you are only using the side strips, and its highly unlikely they changed that part, but you never know with the French!.

Il try to find out if the one i got was early or late.

Jamie.

if it was a scrapper can you give us the chassis number....just to keep the renault guys at the garage happy coz they have to match the right seals up to the right chassis number........

I just hope their computer isn't centrally linked......

....I mean, how many sets of seals does one car need? Might get away with a couple if you bugger up the fitting, but maybe 350 sets is a bit suspicious

EDIT:-

If there is any left over after fitting (off-cuts), is it worth sending to Either WOOLIES or EDGEWARE TRIMS to see if they can match the profile and sell it by the meter?
