Wheel Lock - McGard

I am getting a new set of wheel lock. Knowing that the size is M12 x 1.5 but I am not sure which type of cone and length I should pick from.

There are too many of them

but since you posted . . .

I think you should go to some local "wheel shops" and hopefully you still have the 4 extra lugs that the locks replaced -- if so you can bring them one in your hand and they can match it up -- you'll want to be sure the thread pitch and length of the bolt are right and the taper on the end.

I just think you can do a proper transaction at a local shop, while shopping online you may never know what you are really getting until you get them

also if you need help with the removal of worn old ones the local shop should be able to do it

I went to local WheelWorks the other day and they don't have any. Also I tried Kragen's next door which didn't have a good selection either. Also Napa store near by The guy told me to buy them somewhere else and he will replace them for me .. since I bought the tires from them. Tire rotation schedule is coming up again.

Guess what, I managed to change the oil over the weekend, for the 1st time without removing the FR wheel

I heard that McGard is kinda nice to have. I'll try other local stores. I can take out one wheel nut in the parking lot and walk into the store with that.

well you don't even have the OE parts -- the OE had a hex end on the stud as one unit = you have to hold the wheel manually in place and curse while you try to put the bolt in the hole.

You have wheel studs in the hub, you can hang the wheel on them like most cars in the world and then you just put the nut over the wheel and stud . . .

certainly one of the home-boys across the pond can tell us if other siblings have this or not

Old VW bugs had wheel bolts - you would have thought there was enough cursing heard that Lotus wouldn't have used 'em again!

Got McGard M12 x 1.5 25257 from local Pepboys.

The regular M12 x 1.5 doesn't work on mine. They are too fat for those holes on my wheels. I had to go for this slim profile tuner model which is $20 more for what it usually cost a regular model.
