Not a percentage as such, but the Pistonheads site (also free to access) gives a link to A-plan insurance - they were the best deal i could find for our circumstances - and they gave a bit off when PH was mentioned!
Similarly, SELOC is free to join, and they get deals all over the place (some are restricted to paying 'site supporters') but i think this could get unweildy to administer.
Geoff, I like your thoughts that people would be honest and throw a few quid in the kitty, but [cynical bit] that may not happen in every case[/cynical bit]. How easy is it to limit details to a thread which can't be accessed by guests, or 'one post wonders'? or details by PM?
Or (radical thought here), a system whereby the insurer will chuck a couple of quid in the pot whenever a policy is taken out and the purchaser benefits from a LEC discount.
