Any advice please?
The fuel tank is in the car, all pipes, cables, covers and hatches off.
The manual says "Unscrew the fuel pump retaining ring..." and oh how I have tried! but I still can't get it undone.
Are ther any special techniques? I have exhausted all of my ideas.
I am now thinking of the usual guaranteed solutions eg hammer , hacksaw (don't think Ill try the gas torch though!)
Thanks for any suggestions,
Simon

While having a bacon sandwich and a coffee I thought; what would my father do?
Cut a piece of wood so that it fitted into the lug on the retaining ring
Hit gently with rubber mallet.
It was off within 10 minutes!
