News from 1995.

"- Lotus celebrates the completion of the 50,000th car since the birth of the marque in 1948. The car, a Lotus Elan S2, is donated to a major national charity with the help of former Lotus driver Britt Ekland. With the help of The Sun newspaper, over ?65,000 is raised by the car."

The Charity was the Prince's Trust - SV

If I remember correctly they're a 45 offset. The car is also lowered 10mm. The top of the wheel sits just inside the upper wheel arch. The rest sits just about flush with the bodywork. The wheels are OZ Turisimo's in 17" by 7. sadly enough the pic doesn't do the wheels justice.

JPS M100 was built from bare chassis up to create one off M100 in the mould of JPS Team Lotus

They have to be one of the best aftermarket wheels i've seen on an elan yet :smt023

Are they Compomotives?

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it


...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?

I didn't like them when I saw them in the flesh/alloy(?), but mainly because they are clearly not the correct offset and do stick out further than the originals. I'd guess they must be a 40 - 45 offset.

They do look nice in the pictures all cleaned up though and the Elan is looking very shiny Tony :)

(hope you manage to track down some S2 wheels for it)

Stock 16 inch OZ wheels, slightly modified. Saves money compared to buying new wheels, and keeps a little more true to the stock Lotus.

These are very exspensive Jap alloys.
