Problem selecting Reverse

Postby Elan1 » Fri 31.08.2007, 19:50

Hi guys. Long time no post!

Hubby was out driving today and has come back saying he can't select reverse (was fine yesterday!). Hes had a look, hoping it was going to be a clip, but says it isn't. Does this mean one/both the cables need replacing? All the other gears are fine. Any help would be very welcome.

Cheers,

Sarah

Hi Sarah, sounds like possible beginings of cable failure, what cables do you have ?. Is the linkage stiff, i had this & all it needed was plenty of WD40 spraying at the gearbox end !
JPS M100 was built from bare chassis up to create one off M100 in the mould of JPS Team Lotus

Hiya Paul,

I have the original standard cables on. Everything was fine before Hubby drove it and then no reverse. I'll tell him to WD40 it, but I think its going to be a replace of cables, by the sounds of it.

We're trying to sell it ( :( ), so I don't really want to bodge it up and sell it on to someone for it to go wrong on them.
