Dual tipped exhaust

Has anyone tried this yet? I just finished mocking up, cutting appart, modifying and tack welding back togeather a Borla stainles steel muffler and dual intercooled exhaust tips. It was a pain but I got the whole thing to work. Now I just need to finish the rest of the exhaust. Does anyone know if I could order just the pipes from Peco?

Nope. The bodywork remains intact. that was one of the reasons why this was such a pain. I"ve been searching for a single 2.5" inlet to Dual outlet muffler that is only 12" long and yet straight though in design for awhile now. Actually 2 years. Borla makes a single in single out that fit the size bill but allof the dual tips are dual 3"ers + they're too long with the Y pipe most have welded on.

What I did with mine is to cut the muffler open and change out the internals with a Perforated Y. From there I welded on a new end cap with the appropriate 2.5" holes and welded on the Borla exhaust tips. What a pain, but it works and sounds really mean when I coupled it up to the old piping. I still have to cleanup the welds and gas seal the rest of the tips. Then get all new stainless tubing for the rest of the exhaust. Hopefully though this will turn out to be a really nice sounding and performing setup. Asthetically it already beats thesigle tipped exhaust. After all everything else on my car is in 2s. From the headlights to the rollbar to the tali lights.

Marie, do you want me to get in touch with Dave? I presume you're after the pipework from the triangular flange to the rear box (with a bit of extra length for contingency) plus shipping. You do realise that there is, as yet, no cat available.

Yep thats exactly what I'n looking for. If you could do that ........ You are such an Angel!!! The cat I'm not too wooried about as I have a high flow cat anyways and the mounting flanges are very different than stock. I just really wnat the stainless pipes without much hassle.

I managed to speak to Dave Jones at Peco today.

He is going to have to check with his bosses to see if it is possible but he thinks they may not be keen as they are likely to consider it a lost sale on a full system. I e-mailed him the pictures of your muffler/twin tips so he appreciates that you're not interested in a full system and it's either the pipes or nothing! I've asked for price including delivery and timescale and will forward anything on as soon as I get it.

Peco or Borla?

Tasteless. A Nissan Primera P11 I believe. I have a Nissan Primera too. It is a reliable car but, like most family saloons/hatchbacks hardly the best looking thing around. Tarting it up would just make it look silly, which is exactly what I think of the one above.

I wanted an attractive car which was fun to drive but wanted the practicality too. I chose to keep the Nissan and buy a genuinely attractive & fun car, my Elan
