Eerrr no. You want the closed loop 1499 (S2) chip - the 9929/9930 chips don't use the oxygen sensor which is necessary for your catalyst to work properly. The 9930 gets rich SEs (with a 9929 or equivalent PROM) under the UK 3% requirement - no oxygen sensor or catalyst required - it wouldn't get you under 0.4%. The S2 ECU would of course work too (since it has the 1499 chip in it).
It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but it doesn't take any to sit on your arse with a blank look on your face.

Click on my WWW link for information on chips and ElanScan.

Finally a phone line! :-D

On my MOT Exhast Emissions Test Reading (July 31 2007):

Reading CO = 0.16%
HC = 103 ppm

Hope this Helps!

Cheers,

Just to let you all know that this prolem is solved.
Duncan called after 2 days, we did the rebuild 3. day evening, and he passed the MOT day 4 without any problems.

It IS a piece of cake. :!:
especially when you have all the parts you need on the shelf. :wink:

Wrong answer.
What you should have said is "complete strip down and rebuild like jimbob - it took a whole day because I had to go to work in the middle of it" :wink:
