Hi everyone
Following on from my topic in Elan Buying help, maybe this should be in here. Sorry mods if I am cluttering up the boards
..Me again everyone
I am going up to see the cars on Thursday and Friday.
Today's bad news is that the purple one has been picked up by a ( porsche ) independant chum of mine in Ankara and just called to tell me that the windscreen is cracked.
I really do not think anyone here will have a replacement - so after all the discussion and my belief that the purple one is best it looks like it may be out of the picture now...Bummer.
Any thoughts on how easy it is to change the screen - assuming I can get one here. It would be changed professionally but not by people who have ever seen an Elan before
Also - would anyone be willing to send me a phone number just in case I need emergency aid on Friday ( promise not to call unless in dire straits!! )
Thanks to all
David

When you replace the screen it is best to replace the seal as well which are in short supply. Screens are not a problem here but in Turkey????
If you get the seals wrong you will have leaks. I have heard of the old one being reused but that depends on how easily and carefully the old screen comes out.
Could the 'Hokey-Cokey' actually be what it's all about?

remember that it's possible the BRG one could develop a crack too in the near future, but i agree that an already cracked one is an issue. Maybe the current dealer should get it replaced if they want to sell it!?

A specialist assured me the A pillar seals DON'T have to be touched when replacing a windscreen. If you want more details ring 01638 661144
