Touch up paint Stick

Postby Beats » Wed 07.11.2007, 13:59

Does anyone know if there's a common red available off the shelf in say Halfords that matches pretty close to the Calypso Red? Just want to do a couple of stone chips. I could always take a few cans/sticks out and hold them against the car but I thought I'd ask you guys first.

Cheers.

Good question.
Fresh Calypso Red, or faded Collapso Pink? They were the same colour once.

Seriously though, Calypso's tendency to fade may make this a difficult question to answer accurately

Get some of your wife's lipstick  .....

......then you've got some for weekends as well! :-D

rips right about colour fade though so you may end up with a different spotty car instead.

I use a Turtlewax Chipstik, Light Red colour on mine, which seems to be a good match. I got mine from Halfords (it was actually free with Turtlewax Color Magic Plus in the same colour)

I use that one , Mark - works a treat!

When i went to a local paint factor to get a spray made up he wanted the paint codes......

....then when I told him the story of fading paint, he offered to match the new paint to the car from a swatch sample.......

....then when he saw the car he asked which of the 6 faded shades i wanted to match it to

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it
