Jim Clark S2 - 1/12. The one with the Yellow spoke wheels . No 613 on dash (pushed in to factory in wrong order 615 on tub)

Clemo,

Nice find. I think the lines of the prototype are actually better than the production model. The air-scoop bonnet of the coupe is nice too - something you should have shown Stevo.

Some of the pics look very Scimitar SS1 or TVR Tasmin like...
91 Elan SE 24k miles, 270 BHP @ 1.25 barg. Roll hoops + fairings+ speed humps Elise lights. S2 alloys. Nitrons& Eibachs,AP's front & Hi Spec rear brakes

Speaking of which, that coupe's is very similar to it.
Not sure about the lights though - a bit Mazda 323ish.
And personally I think that the bonnet scoops look a bit brash and out of place. Ok on an Elise, but not an Elan.
IMO Kuching's hardtop also looks better, with it's sharper cutoff.

But apart from that... :lol:

The back end of the Ital design one looks a bit like Piazza Turbo

If VW gets control of Lotus, with their proclivity for re-introducing updated versions of older models, I'd get in line for that M100 coupe - if they'd give it a retractable hardtop. They're all the rage these days. it would be a MB slk killer!


Oh yeah, a re-treatment of the ass-end would help too.

They look so horrible and errr.. French!? So Renault like :shock: :smt078

Now I see how much more beautiful the Elan is I realise I would never have bought one if it looked that bad. I would have just gone strait for the Esprit. :wink:

Good thing the Italdesign M100 never went into production. If it had, the design would never have been recycled as the Subaru SVX!Image
