Well.. It works

The LECWiki seems to be a success... It has surpassed the LEFwiki for related information..

I know it's still early days, but good skills all round..

Cheers Al... and Geoff...

WRONG, WRONG, WRONG, WRONG, WRONG.

It's www.WikiLEC.9600.org - see, it's Wiki before LEC unless written in Hebrew of course.

I've just been through the 'old pre-crash forgotten by everyone apart from John Wham' part of LEC and turned up a few gems. I've ignored the lost links so hopefully only active ones remain. If you find any duffers or any new ones, don't forget that you can correct them.

If you're interested in rear brake replacement, replacing the O2 sensor, headlight motor repair, bleeding your brakes, door panel removal, head gasket replacement, stainless wishbones or stopping A pillar leaks then it's worth having a look.

Hopefully, we can work on these to get them consolidated in the Wiki, which obviously gives the advantages of a better search facility on purely technical information and the ability for everyone to add/update/correct/tidy-up so the information is as current as possible.

A link from LEC would be useful, along the top of the page maybe?
Apart from the odd link to it (usually posted by Geoff), there is no obvious mention of it on here.

I've just had a look and we're up to about 50-odd nice concise articles now.

If you're into that sort of thing, there are a bunch of other stats available here : http://wikilec.9600.org/index.php/Special:Statistics

What, like between the "Home" and "Repairs" sections for example?
Good idea - it certainly seems to be filling up with a lot of useful stuff, and doesn't suffer from going off topic like the usual threads.

Yes, that is where I was thinking of.
Your 'off topic' point is valid too. Were you referring to any threads in particular? The notorious East Mids thread for example :-D

Hmm, that's so far off topic at the moment that it's probably somewhere in the middle of the North Sea.
In fact the last I heard of it, someone said it had been lost in a canoeing accident and had subsequently been photographed in Panama! :P

I have been trying to persuade our IT team to add a link to the Jabba for some time now.
Unfortunately, both Liz and Tony are otherwise engaged presently.

I can add forums etc, but I have neither the privileges nor the know how to add an exterior link...

Are there any IT-types that want to step up to the plate?

asp..... I have modified html before. I have a test web server so in theory could play with it until I get it right. I don't sound too convincing do I?

That would be a problem.

File protection is there for our benefit: - to stop one of us screwing up something and ruining it for everyone else.

Best to wait until Liz/Tony have time.

Thanks for that Jack. Using the first-come-first-serve rule though. Al! How about it?

I'll contact Liz/Tony and see if they can grant you access...if all goes well we can change your status to reflect your new standing within the community.

Thanks

Sy

I've copied you (and Doug) in on my e-mail request to Liz & Tony. Please feel free to embellish the chain as required...
