Got to go down Halfrauds today...(need a crush washer)

I'll have a quick read of the book and see which cars they fit...

But the thermostat comes with seven gaskets, some with multiple bolt holes...

Stamped on the bottom of the Halfrauds item is 82 degrees C, K-2, France, Calorstat...

I hope that helps....

I' do some photos later if required...

Update...

Halfords are stopping there HTK602 range in favour of the alternative QTH100 Thermostat 82° ...3 squid on tinters..

Half the price to... :-D

Has anyone tried one, do you get gaskets with it...

So the Fiesta boys were right.

QTH100K includes gaskets

QTH100 is just the 'stat

I would go for the one with the gaskets...just in case the old ones are in bad condition when you remove the offending stat. (Rubber ones crumble apart when they get old).

Gotta agree...

It's a gasket thou, not a rubber seal.... and it will be hardened...

Yes

You will also notice it is an 'offset' design.
The Halfords one also has an airbleed - look closely and you will se a V shaped notch at the top of the valve seat.

Ghost - I've just got an HTK602 ex Halfords complete with gaskets for £6 and changed it. The difference is immediate and the heater now warms up much sooner and the temp gauge has moved off the bottom stop.

Sonds like the same as your problem - my guess was that after 17 years it had given up the Ghost and was stuck in the open position ?

It's just the design...

The OEM is offset towards one side to facilitate the use of an air bleed valve...

The air bleed valve purges air through the thermostat assembly when it is closed...

The halfords is in built..

but it's old stock (unused) ... does anyone knows if there could be any problems due to the age of the item?
