Roger, I dealt with the Glasgow branch of LSUK directly (went into the branch). Their details are

They didn't have any in stock when I went in but the guy ordered them up and had them delivered direct to the garage that was fitting them for me.

Not much more useful info on the invoice other than my order ref number which is 3776994B and the guy that placed the order was Stuart.

I would have thought your local LSUK branch would have been able to sort you out (although you say you had no success there).

Not strictly true - Lucas Electrical still exist. I believe that LSUK are the old Lucas shops which now sell more than just Lucas parts.

Ordered 2 of these today.Still £11.41 +vat.
I know there is going to be some adjustment to the holding bracket to make these fit,but what does concerne me is the overall dia of the lamp face.The original Lucas ones seem to be 5 1/4 " while i'm sure the sales chap at LSUK said the Durite ones are 5 3/4".
He did say he's sold some before as replacements.

I know Alan and Neil have these so i presume they fit reasonably well.

Roger, the glass is 5 1/4" but the shell is 5 3/4" so you are OK.
You might want to get hold of some M4 x 12mm (6 per unit) screws 'cos the old ones will be a bitch to get out

According to my mechanic, the fit was even better than the Cibie units that SJS originally supplied me (which were ~£50 each). The Cibies also required adjustment to the brackets which is what caused me to search for an alternative in the first place.

The pics on page 1 of this thread show the Durites on my car.

I didn't realise they were the Durites on your car Alan.They do look a better fit.
As for replacement screws,i've already got stainless ready to go,but as mentioned not coming out very easy.A soaking in the old 'WD' may be called for.

the durites are a peice of cake to fit, done one today, the other should go in in the next couple days, needs m4 screws.

two of the slots line up between the plastic mount and the durite lamps so i just cut the third of with wire cutters, all done and jobs a good un. did have to drill one of the old screws out but it was quite easy.

will do a write up with lots of pretty pics in the near future.

Every time I see photos or read descriptions of Elan corrosion in the UK, I realize just how fortunate I am to live in such a mild climate. I was able to redo my headlamps with standard tools only, brighten the lift adjustors up with a bit of metal polish and even reuse the original screws since their factory black-oxide coating still largely intact!

Note: this is the "before" picture with the original factory lamps.

Yes there is Sy. I think I posted it in another thread and also have a note of it in the house - will look it up.

edit: can't find the post, so maybe i didn't - but I definitely have a note of the part number on my receipt for the high beams (I asked the guy about dipped at the time) so I'll dig it out tonight when I get in.

Sorry Pinky, I didnt know you wanted any.

I picked up some of them last week from LSUK in Bristol (£11.41ea +VAT).

When fitting, I didn't cut the locating lug off the headlamp unit (as mentioned by someone previously), I fettled the plastic mounting ring to suit instead.

I also needed some foam rubber to provide a better fit when everything was sandwiched together. I've got some spare if you want it Dave.
