boost gauge not moving although lights up

my boost gauge doesnt move from 0 although lights up ok, as a total newbie im abit stuck can someone help with whats up. Thanks

Check the earth connection next to the transducer in engine bay.
Transducer is the orange cylindrical rubber thing on top of the driver's side wheel arch.

Which reminds me Sy: where's yours? Have you gone for an aftermarket dial or something? I was looking here and couldn't help but notice that it had gone walkies.

Yes, the Phantom turbo dial that I have fitted is pressure/vacuum driven versus the electronic OEM dial.

Hi, I was looking in the postings and saw hear that you upgraded your turbo dial to vac/pressure what do I need to do this?

the stock gauge is "electrical" which means it needs a transducer to read the boost and send it the current to register on the needle.
you need to get a "mechanical" gauge, which is one that you then run a direct vacuum line to from the intake manifold and it does all the work itself. this way you can remove the old transducer as Sy and Marie have shown.
there's a number of companies that make gauges for this so you find on in the right size that suits your tastes and install it and use the wiring of the old gauge to power the new one.

Ekapol and i have gauges from VDO, same company that does the stockers. I think they're Cockpit series

But check the vacum hose to.. they perish and fall off..

Correction: They are Vision series, just like the Esprit's, show vacuum reading, and you can actually read their white lettering on black face.

Me too they look great, hopefully in the future i`d like to do something similar
but does look like a nighmare wiring job
