Hi.

It started with at rather damaged danish M100 (body damaged front and rear) "well, it is fiberglass, so it can´t be that difficult!" I insured my wife that it will take years before it is proper restored and the danish rather heavy registration fee will have to be paid.
The body damage is a little more serious than I thought, so it gonna take a decade before it will be finish. So I bought a UK elan with a good body but a lot of millage - and it is naturally a RHD. My projec is therefore to combine the two cars to one LHD beautyfully restored dream of a sportscar....... so it can be ready for the spring, of cause ;o)

Welcome Falco. There are a few owners in Denmark and delta has recently helped another Dane in getting his car through the emissions requirements.

From experience of what we saw of the LHD and RHD chassis at the factory, there are major differences, so be prepared for a lot of work. As Tony says, it might be easier to buy a bodyshell from the factory if there are any left. You've found the best place to help you though as LEC is a mine of useful information.

Thank you both for your fast reply.

The guy who was helped by Delta was me (he was/and is a great help)

My plan is to use the UK frame, suspension and wheels etc., the DK motor & steering and the DK Fiberglass body but fitted with the UK "cut-off rear" and the UK front parts. This should do the the trick - I hope :o)
There is no problems in refitting the "cut-off" part, most of it will not be visible (in the trunk and under the car) - it is similar to reparing a fiberglass boat. From proffessional boatbuilders I am assured that the joining is stronger than the rest of the body

The only real challange to me, is to cut of the parts of the rear that I have to re-use. I have to cut them where the are "glued" together (especially the top-shell of the rear) I have to cut in an 90 degree angle and in the original "rubber-glue".

So if any of you have tried to seperate the glued bodyparts, I would very mutch like an advice ;-)
