Driver’s side of the car. The door has started to catch the inner edge (1" long) of the wing about 5" from the bottom of the door as i open it. How can i sort it out?

If I'm reading you right one of two things has happened..
Your A Panel has slipped.. easy to fix.. a bit of a mare to do..
Your hinge mounts on the door have corroded away....
I think it will be the first...
there's a thread some where on how to reseat it..

The hinge mounts are in very good condition. so are you saying that the "A"
Panel has moved ? is it just a case of slackening the bolts and moving the "A" panel around to get it to sit better ?

I have the same problem. I have just ordered a flexible extension bar for £1.59 to try and sort it out. It is longer than Delta recommends but it isn't much money so I thought that I would give it a go.

In the past I have given the A panel a good shove, it gets rid of the problem temporarily. Putting some vaseline on the problem gets rid of the nasty clicking sound but doesn't look too good.

I found that if you remove the A-panel completely and then just file away about an 25mm long by a couple of mm deep on the inside of the door, then it gets rid of the bit that scrapes the panel. After that you just re-fit it.
Only problem is that the bottom of the A-panel is held in place by 2 bolts which go into those scrivet things, and they are so old they just sieze and fall apart. So I'm aiming to get a few replacements at Donington and some stainless steel fasteners, then I can finish the job properly.

I'm not Speck but: Yes, that's it! 2 bolts at the bottom.

Mine was doing the same... I loosened the hinges and moved the door back a tiny bit... not so much that it snagged the door lock. Because of the cranking on the hinge, a tiny movement makes a fair bit of difference where the front edge of the door catches the panel. I also managed to grind away a bit of the door which catches ( it could not be seen on the face of the door)... but as I was respraying the whole thing I didn't have to be too careful.... now it is fine!!
