What about the bits at the end that hook into the door card?
or is one screw good enough?

Well, if someone wants to pick up the gauntlet and try to source something like
this I won't stop them.

I didn't use the tabs or a fastener - a blob of sticky stuff holds it nicely

Yes. You can tell by the imperfections (which is not a criticism).
Questions: how do you make a mould that complicated and still get a good finish, and how many plies of CF were used?

It's puckered in places!
Seriously...I seem to recall this was from an old sample roll that I had of carbon fibre with a translucent black resin - hence the fibres are not as visible as with a clear resin system. Also this part was autoclaved, probably around 100 pounds pressure which tends to flatten the cloth too much for best visual effect

I used the original escutchii

as part of the master (pattern which I still have) which is epoxy tooling board, then sealed all with an epoxy coating then made an epoxy mold over it. Again, I recall this was using some 'experimental' materials, which I was able to get a reasonable finish with but not perfect. The parts In the pictures are NOT clearcoated but straight from the mold with perhaps a quick wipe-over with polish - a satin-finish clear coat in my opinion would be best for these parts
