Marie is away from her PC at the moment, she asked me to forward the info...

She shipped out yesterday via DHL: tracking number 8072579200

With the help from her friend at DHL, we had it discounted to around $200 ($198 or something) instead of $295

Ship date: 3/26/2008
Pieces: 2
Total weight: 25 lbs
Service: International Express

The number is trackable on DHL website. I've just checked few mins ago and the package seems to go out from USA already :-)

According to the latest, it has arrived in the UK, East Midlands airport no less... whether it will arrive before I leave for Donny is anyone's guess... I'll hold off as long as I can though.

I've sent a payment through to Ekapol, comes in at £103 for postage, split between 6, which comes out at £17.17 each?

LGM Intake pipe

Postby woody » Sun 30.03.2008, 12:34

Tried to fit mine today.
It looks as though I need to cut 2 - 2.5" off either side of the large Samco hose to make fit.Is this right ?
Also Greddy supplied with a white plastic 3 sided connector, and a length of small bore pipe to cut into 3 pieces. Is this reqd, and if so where do the 2 ends fit.
Has anyone found a suitable connector to fit the adaptor pipe into the airbox, or should I fit a small air filter onto the end?
Cheers,
Woody

Woody,

Not tried to test fit yet, so don't know about cutting the pipe.

The length of 3mm hose is for connecting to BOV to one of the other air pipes, this is usually done by cutting the pipe from the plenum to the boost transducer in the middle, then using the 3 way connector to attach the 3 pieces, you wouldn't normally cut the supplied hose, it should just be long enough to travel around the back of the plenum and attach up to the existing pipe described.

Intake Pipe

Postby woody » Sun 30.03.2008, 14:41

Thanks Ailwyn,
Looking at pictures of other installations, it looks as though the large Samco hose is cut shorter, but I will await advice from others.
Found a 1" black plastic straight pipe connector to fit adaptor pipe into air box.
Cheers,
Woody

Yes the large 2 3/4" 45 elbow does need to be trimmed to make it fit properly. No matter what you do do not cut off too much. The BOV's vacuum hose is easiest to get its supply from the transducer. You can route the hose along the fuel rail harness as is common practice to keep things neat and tidy. The re-route can be done several ways; and aluminum fitting to the trach can or a plastic seems to be the easiest. After the install is complete you may wish to adjust the BOV's trigger action by loosening the 10mm nut at the top and turning the set screw to either increase or decrease the reaction time/preasure to your liking.

Hi Marie, ive fitted mine, & it is an excellent bit of kit :!: . Two questions if i may, ive tried adjusting the BOV, ive gone 2 full revolutions to the HARD, as it tells you its set at the softest setting from factory, & to be honest, can't tell any difference, so ive backed off 1 full revolution & it seems ok, but you have a lot more experience with these, any other advice on this, like what am i looking/listening for ?.
Other thing is the recirculating pipe adaptor. The original blue open finishing piece has an O ring in it, are we supposed to use that with the adaptor or just screw it in tight ?
May i take this opportunity to thank you & Ekapol for all your hard work, its certainly made my weekend :!:

Lets see pics Paul.

How long did it take to fit?

What i'm trying to say Tony, is i've turned the adjuster through 2 full revolutions, & i couldn't really tell any difference ?, now it may need a lot more turns, ( i don't know how many it actually does ? ), but obviously LGM having adjusted hers, she will probably know ?.

Took me about an hour, but wasn't rushing about, & yes Woody, you have to cut lots off the large hose, i put the pipe in position with the small hose on, then offered the large one up & marked where it needed cutting. These hoses are a pig to cut straight, so take your time.
Picture shows it without recirculating hose on, as going to get a fitting tomorow to fix it into the air filter box.

I turned my adjuster down about 1/2 way to compensate for the high boost pressure. I hate to say it but its a combination of trial and error with personal preference

Hey, that looks excellent Paul. :-)

For the BOV, you might want to start from having the set up on the softer side, so that it will quickly release the pressure (whoosh) at the slightest lifting off of your throttle. Then gradually set it a little harder from there.

Having it too soft and you will not be able to build up the boost to the max. You will know that it will be just right when it could hold your maximum boost and still be very quick to let off the pressure when you back off you foot. You might even want to start from softer than the factory settings. I tighten it up 1/4 turn at a time. You will find that Greddy BOV and its spring size is just perfect for the boost pressure we're running, very responsive, very adjustable. That's why we like them.

You don't need the ring for the re-circulating adapter.

That is pretty much general idea. As she mentioned, you might like it a little harder or softer from there.

I look forward to seeing more pictures from other people too.

Cheers,
Ekapol.
