Now, all we need is for Brian to make up some aluminum door pulls and interior door handles to do with that CF escutcheon and we'd not need to worry about how they'd look against the grey plastic....................

Would these be suitable for use in an elan?

I suppose i could always dismantle the Vectra and try one, but i'd rather not have to if someone can tell me they work, or otherwise!

I'd guess not but that's just a guess. I've looked over the parts manual (and other manuals) a few times to see how the door handles are attached. Seems they may be unique to the Elan but who knows.

I know you didn't forget Brian :-D I just like to remind you that you promised everyone on LEC that you'd make them and..............oh wait, that was just me dreaming

I thought you meant the door handle (the mechanism inside the escutcheon), not the door pull.

And, if you don't mind, can I have my thread back please?

Yes, right after I tell Brian that I'll take a set of door pulls and a set of door handles (the ones residing inside the escutcheons as you pointed out - need a matching set afterall!). That design looks good Brian!

I'm needing to replace one of my escutcheons, as it's broken. If anyone would like to be the source for me after replacing theirs with CF, I need one for the right side.

I would go for these CF ones, since CF is a major theme of my interior decor, but I've already ordered some of this heat-stretchable carbon fibre vinyl to have a go at doing my own.

If it works well enough, I'm going to do my escutcheons and door pulls, then I'll move on to some other bits, like hood latches.

I would really prefer real CF, but my budget prefers to compromise.
Chris

We have an OK, but with a caveat.
The price is looking like £65 per set, which is £15 more than my original ROM.

I( need to gauge commitment now.
