OK I've made enquiries, and my contact has some brand new 5mm.
He's quoted me £25 for it - I honestly have no idea if that's good, bad or indifferent (but it sounds a lot to me for a bit of plastic)!
Can you update your profile to include your location?
Then, if you want to go for it, we may be able to make the "LEC national courier service" work to our advantage.

Ah but polycarbonate iss not just a bit of plastic...it's the stongest plastic known to man!

Neil has very kindly offered to get the polycarb and i am going to meet him to collect it. I am preparing the frame to fit the poly. I am going to screw some u shaped alloy to inside the top of the frame and L shaped to the bottom inside the frame, (i think). I have rounded of the edges of the top piece to fit to the bend. It may take a few weeks before work can continue but will keep everyone up to speed. Just one thing i am a perfectionist so it may all just end in tears.

To-day I spoke to Andy at red.ltd who was very helpful beyond the call of duty and is shipping me a piece of polycarb at a price £20 including delivery. He put me on to a company called roofless bits who make wind stops in polycarb for MG. its worth a look. www.rooflessbits.co.uk they do,nt look to bad. It may help with ideas for any one wishing to make one.

Thank you for all the effort you put into trying to get the poly it was appreciated. As it stands I will get the poly this week I already have a template made the exact size of the inner frame and have mounted some 6mm u channel to the under side of top bar, to slide the poly into. I will await delivery of the poly before I do any more work. I am taking photos as I progress and will try to post them when the job is complete. I am trying to decide to tint or not to tint the poly.

The holes are to keep the air pressure down, the poly carb is fixed between two u shape channels which were screwed and bonded to the top and bottom bar. I would have done a write up but there are to many different types of windstop and the way I did mine may not suit other types, but anyone wishing to do the same I will be glad to help. I suggest polycarb is used you will know why when you peel off the protective backing. I,m off on holiday now my brain hurts.
