I'll be looking to replace my hood in the next six months, does anyone what the best deal is at the moment for a complete hood and new seals. I know that trim technology are the normal suppliers but do they still fit them and is there a deal to be done on the price when you mention LEC. My other option is to try and get one sent up and find a hood installer in Scotland to fit it.

IIRC trim tech will sell you a hood...however they will not do fittings anymore......
the LEC discout gave you a hood and new seals fitted for £760....should have been about £900 I think.......
I think trim tech will do the hood and seals at about £500~£600...if they have any left.......and it will also mean that you'll need to find someone to fit it.....
other than that cant really help much
cheers

Thanks for that, do we know who the last person to order a hood from trim tech was?

Just stumbled across this site, if anybody over here needs a replacement. Their listed prices probably don't include installation, but at less than half the cost being reported from Trim Tech, probably not such a bad deal. Custom colors available.

I'm kinda thinking ahead to that day when I might need a replacement. What d'ya think of a white hood on a Calypso car?

Absolutely horrible IMO

And it wouldn't matter what colour Elan it was on. It would show the dirt up really badly and you'd never be able to
keep it clean.

How would you know if it had been snowing?

I live in Mississippi. Next time it snows here, we won't be driving petroleum fueled vehicles with wheels on them anymore. If I'm away from home and it snows on me, then I'll probably notice some white on the red bits.
I don't know how hard it would be to keep a white hood looking good, but I know the white cat hair I'm always cleaning off my black hood wouldn't be noticable on it.
I don't have plans to replace the hood right now, I'm just bored between basketball and football season, and my mind is constantly re-doing things on the car. Oh what I could do if I found a case full of cash while digging in the garden....

Buy a black cat

There are already two of those here, too. The funny thing about cats is that they know what things to lie down on so that the hair they shed will show up. The black cats never sleep on anything black. They seem to actually look for light-colored things to lay down on. The white cats do just the opposite. If it's black, they will curl up on it, guaranteed.

If you speak to our old friend Dean Holt at Trim Tech you may be plesently surprised!
His details are elsewhere on the site.
I bought a new hood and seals about two weeks ago, they will also do a deal if you mention this site.
Cheers
