This is dead easy: Mine is up on the ramps with one wheel off as we speak. I'll post some pics when I get around to it......

Glad to hear that.
As we speak I have not used them only seen them in action at the show. A ratchet is used on both sides on a screw thread the gearing being low because of the waight being lifted. My intention is to use a air gun to speed things up, but they will never be as quick as driveons. It sounds like you have already seen some but if you want to see mine to give you any ideas in the development of yours I would be glad to help. The main benifit I find is it raises the car double the normal ramp hieght but as you say at a price. Have not used them yet as I have been putting off the yearly crawl under the car to rust proof any areas needing work.

Isn't there a danger of it falling down the ramp off the scissor jack Candles ? Won't the vector forces be different rather than straight down through the jack as per normal operation ?

Just a bit worried about the safety aspect of it.

PS Presumably the car is in gear, the handbrake on and blocks behind the rear wheels ?

This isn't to work under! I would never advocate working under any jacked car. I ALWAYS use axle stands etc etc.

Also, the forces are actually about right. I agree through, it is a rough'n'ready solution, albeit simple and effective.

Daddy dude is putting together a steel fabrication to slot onto the ramps that will allow a jack to be used safely.

I will post some pics when it is done, hopefully I can get these out to peeps that have bought the ramps if they need them?

lol, how about pax laps round rochdale not had the dosh to do any trackdays sinc Donny but hope to do a few more this year. I will be doing Oulton with LoT in october

I realise its a bit late to reply tp the last post!!!...like several months..
OK we did mes about with a platform but soon realised that the we would only be doing it for LEC elans as each jacking point id different for each make of car...to date, we have sold about 120 sets!!! and its now jigged up on a steel jig and mig welded etc so they are looking squarer and better than ever, plus we can make them so much quicker now so we have reduced the price to £99 per pair!!!

It actually bacame a full blown job and we spend a good two days a week on them now

We are planning more products as well soon and a new web site dedicated to the ramps etc.

Since the take up has been weak on LEC though I doubt we will be offering the jack plate (as we call it) for sale.

But if people become more interested then we could supply the drop on plate as well.

It does show how much more active other clubs have been, I have sold many more ramps to 911 owners, MG owners VW owners even VW camper van owners!! perhaps tey just have more money to spend.

Oh...we have also made a set of two foot long drop on ladders sections that cater for the lowest of cars by converting the ramps to have two angles of lift.

I have a feeling I might have bought a set from Mickydude off ebay a while ago advertised as for MX5 and similar cars - paid more than £99 though
If they are the same - they're the dogs gonads - only issue I have is that they're about 6 feet long - (they have to be because the car is so low) - but nevertheless excellent kit, very useful and well made.

Yes, they will be ours....many thanks for buying them I am pleased they have been useful.

We are only doing them for 99 quid since we have managed to automate the manufacturing process by jigging up and spraying them etc.
Plus we have reduced the steel costs by buying in bulk from a better supplier.

They will still have been a bargain...even if you paid a bit more.
