There seem to be several threads here on potential seal replacements being done. I have some contacts who are in companies that do custom rubber seals work.
Given the problem areas on an S2 or SE, what are the specific parts that need to be improved upon? Does anyone have CAD/CAM drawings of them (will Lotus release these?)
I assume that the carrriers are OK, or do these also have problems?
Does anyone have a full set that can be used to generate models (either bought or used and then returned)?
What is the cost of a full set of these seals from Lotus (when they have stock)?

Sorry, looks like this has been done to death. Wasn't trying to tread on any toes.

Jecuk, it has but the more involvement and questions asked the better.Because i think once seals become available at a price that warrants just a piece of rubber, everyone will be wanting them!

I believe surferphil has a 3D scan of a new seal. I know he posted it in one of the A-post seal threads. You'll just have to look. It'll be toward the last page of whichever thread it's in.

hallo,
I'm drawing a new type of seals, similar to the Porsche 911.
it could be a huge help for me if i could have the 3D drawings.
ciao, F.

Hi Ratman, I could send you the mesh, what software are you using? /What file format would you like. It's a polygon mesh and being scan data it needs some artistic interpretation.

I have modeld the a post seal and they are away with 3 companies at the moment.......I am waiting for a response...however I do know that its not easy and that they are exploring the materials side of things first....
I am about to the do the same with the header seal, intermediate door and falling b post seals.......
again this will depend on what the materials guys say.....
I will keep you posted when I have the next lot of scans and models ready
cheers
