Just a couple of questions
Will it be possible to sremove the battery with the hoops in place? and what about the access to the fuel filter?
Thanks Jay
The battery will come out past the tubes. The fuel access panel may be a bit more of a fiddle - but then I've never needed to get in there. If it came to it, the assembly is a bolt-in design so it wouldn't take too long to remove it for access if you really had to.

I've got some prices worked out now based on the best costs I could get for the pattern-making etc. The complete rear deck panel produced in glass-fibre with a gell-coat finish works out at £325. The hoop fairings work out at £312 for the pair with a carbon-fibre finish.
These prices are only viable if the parts are produced in a reasonable quantity - at least 20 over a period of time - so I now need to get an idea of how much genuine interest there is before I commit to a big outlay for the tooling costs.

I'm still in for this at those prices as I think I would regret not going for the whole lot. I will need to think seriously about how I prioritise the projects I have in mind, this one, engine mods, suspension mods. One thing is sure, I won't be doing them all this year

.
However if the hoops, fairings and rear deck need some committment to make them a reality then I'm commited.

I have already gone for the roll hoops offline. I am in for the rear deck and fairings. Will the rear deck be able to come painted?
How about the wind deflector between the roll hoops?

As the deck, fairing and roll hoops seem to be integrated, is it possible to post a rendering of what it would look like for those of us that might be interested in the deck only.

Especially from the view as if you are looking at it from the front end of the car. What happens to the voids the the hoops and fairing are occupying?

I'll put on a picture of the deck pattern as it progresses, meanwhile, here's a picture showing the progress of the fairing pattern.

Shades of an open Le Mans prototype

. Very nice indeed Simon, thanks for the update and I hope it generates some more interest.

I am interested in both the complete rear deck panel and the rollbar.
I do NOT understand what "hoop fairings" is and what "bubbles" is though.
I do understand though that in order to install them I will have to replace the NOS instalation....

I ll figure that later....

Scroll back up this page a bit and you'll find a post by F1 LOTUS with two pictures. In those pictures, the fairings are the grey parts that cover the roll hoops, and the bubbles are the humps behind them on the hood-stowage cover. Hope that helps.

Don't throw the designs away on that Simon. I suspect there will be a second run request after people see them installed on some cars. Fantastic work!

I added a tempered glass wind break to LGM's rollbar in place of the plexi glass one. it looks infintiely better and only cost me about $80 for the glass and tempering process. I had some folks weld on 3 mounting tabs then drew up a template for the glass and had them drill out 3 holes to mount the glass.
If you thinking about a wind break I would really recommend have some glass cut and having it tempered. Mine looks good but I'll bet Simon could work out some rails or slots into which the windbreak would slide into for a seamless look. Pics in
this thread.

Already incorporated into the design. The screen will be attached by 4 screws so it can easily be fitted or removed as required. It could also be made higher if needed but I'll need to road test it to find out how effective it is.

Is there any way that the wind deflector can be incorperated into the rear deck (bubbles) for those whom are not going for the hoops? (i.e. ME)
