Radiator bleed plug bolt thingy!!

Ok. Here goes...

Replaced head gasket....
Replaced water pump...
Replaced belts tensioners etc......

Only for bleed plug thing to snap off in radiator :evil:

Managed to get it out with minimal effort :D

Any suggesetions on how to replace/alternatives/spare one lurking in cupboard somewhere?

Please someone help me

I feel for you. It's a standard metric thread - I think this was reported by dapinky (?) - I'll have a look - so you could use a metal set screw(bolt) for the time being - don't tighten it too tight though :(

I did that as well :roll:

I used an M12 setscrew with a suitable washer/'O' ring - it was intended to be temporary but as i ended up with new end-tanks anyway, soon got dumped.

There are 3 different thread pitches for M12 - make sure you use the correct one for your endtank - the wrong one will force itself in and ruin the thread in the plastic.

...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?

I used a bolt as suggested intending it to be tempary. It is still there after five years and no problems.
