Ashaman, my father-in-law has several(!) gauge sets. The high pressure side didn't have the right fitting so we only looked at the low pressure. I don't think I'm overcharged either. We got so far that I could feel the can cool but after a while, the cool can didn't get to room temp. So, I think we're charged up completely. I think I might just add some JB Weld to the leak and see if that will take care of it. It would obviate the need to find the potentially non-existing part!

Fortunately, you can use generic versions of both parts. I am doing so converting my system back to R-12. The pressures developed in an R12 A/C is substantially different than in an R134a A/C. If you provide an A/C mechanic the normal working pressures for the M100 he should be able to find a replacement trinary-switch without much ado.

All trinary switches do the same 3 things:
1) Monitor high & low side pressures.
2) Shut off electrical flow to the compressor if pressure is too high.
3) Control an electric fan that pulls additional air across the condenser to bring pressures down.

The biggest problem you might have installing a generic trinary is that the electric connectors are different & will have to be spliced-in/replaced.

A receiver/drier can be placed anywhere in the high pressure line between the condenser and the evaporator. It contains a dessicant and removes moisture in the system as well as filters out any loose particles. It should be replaced any time the system is opened to the atmosphere, as the dessicant trapped inside becomes saturated in fairly short-order soaking up the planet's H2O!

Just for anyone interested, A/C compressors are on the after sales list for 199 GBP, and there are a few 134a receiver/driers on there as well, for 15 GBP.
