Tell the seller from me - Don't sell the car, see an IFA and change mortgage companies!!!

I've just got a re-mortgage at 5.49%. Also wish him good luck with the sale from me.

He would love to keep the car, if he can sort his mortagage out.

Then he would be able to attend some local meets.

He does seem upset at possibly having to sell the car but like us all the house must always come first.

No, not because he isn't an expert, but because it was a false claim! If it was the name wrong or some detail then that's par for the course.
I could claim all sorts but I'm not an expert so I don't. We all make mistakes and that's fair enough.

I'd stand by that remark if the seller stood by the claim, but as he hasn't, I'll take it back, say fair enough and good luck with the sale.

All is good as far as I am concerned, it was a bit out of character for me to use that kind of language anyway; so probably good that it got pulled up to remind me how pi55y I can be.

I don't know the name but it doesn't mean he isn't an LEC'er. I'm sure I've seen this car before - Donny most likely - the H-- OOF no. plate looks familiar ?

I went to see this one back in 2005, with the thought of buying it to keep alongside the SE that I had at the time. It was still owned by the Kia dealership in Dundee then and had only covered about 2000 miles from new. The seller and I couldn't quite agree on price, though.

There's not a photo of the interior on PH but if I remember it correctly, it had black cloth seats with multi-coloured stripes. It was in as new condition back in 2005 but is probably a better buy now that someone has put some miles on it.

It sounds like a really good price. I thought lefties where easy to push at the moment. I'm not sure what the speck is though. I would of thought that lefty Elans where quite rear. All the European dealers are buying up all the cheep lefty classics from this country and shipping them back to the big European markets. What would be the cons of the KIa version? Andy & Max

Yep, it does. I know that some Kia "Elans" have had their Kia badges replaced by Lotus badges, though.

kia threw all the good bits away,(or lotus kept them) kia made a heavy 1800cc engine that was slower.
BUT the rear lights are really nice......

that being said i think it should be included on the "elan" register as a good 1000+ were made. they even had a later s2ish edition...

best of luck to the seller... imagine converting it back to an s2...

wonder how difficult it would be?
