Water valve - heater

I have a 91 SE.

The water pipe in my vacuum actuated water valve has rusted away.
Can anyone recommend where I might source a new one please? , other than Lotus.
It looks like the pipe was moulded into the plastic body so it will require a complete new assembly.

It's a Jaguar XJ40 part - but i can't remember the part number at the moment - if you do a search on here for it you will find a post from John_W with the following information:-

Eurojag Ltd in Darlington do them. 01325 722777. They're a Jaguar part which is compatible.

I can't remember which Jag - some sort of XJ I think. I bought one last year and it's all but identical (haven't got round to fitting it yet though - waiting to do it with the new hoses.

Do not be tempted to order on-line from Eurojag - nothing happens. 'Phone them up.

I've never tried them myself (cos mine is okay ), but I have seen them online at www.martinrobey.com for a similar price.

Yep, that's what I fitted.

Mine was a fiver off ebay.

You can just bypass it with a bit of tube to join the pipes together, I did this for a while whilst I got mine sorted

You advised me to phone Eurojag as they didn't respond to ordering on the net.
I phoned on the 20th and ordered the valve. As it hadn't arrived yet I asked my wife to phone (I have a bad throat). to query the dispatch
date. The response: "I forgot". It can be mildly frustrating not to be able to speak! My car has been in the garage now for 8 days awaiting the part.
I think I shall bridge the hoses for now as mentioned by mikeydude.
I am not of course complaining to you. I am just somewhat pissed at Eurojag.

It would be helpful if someone could post the exact model/year of Jaguar the above-specified valve is from. If everything is apart for new hoses, may as well change it now since it's going to fail eventually.

The one pictured will do. Some of them have a bracket - which you don't need on an Elan - but it doesn't matter - depends which Jaguar it come from.

Having looked at your link, I see the price is 82 dollars. EXPENSIVE

The one from Eurojag - part no. C41051A was only 21.95 + tax.

It looks similar to that pictured and works well.

I do not know which model Jag it is for.

A little research shows the valve is from a 86-91 Jag XJ-6 (XJ40). In the US, NAPA shows this listing as a replacement. Given the non-corroding all plastic construction and extremely affordable price (<$20 US), I'm going to try one and will report on its suitability.
