If i type the word gray you wont be able to read it, its been band, i can write ni**er, , w**ker, lesbian etc with no editing at all. I have edited 2 which would definately course offence (none intended). The banning of the word gayy is a total joke. If this word is band then the moderators need to ban all contoversial words. You have edited the word f**k, s**t, but not tosser, c--t.
Would like some level of consistency..

The Forum is a great place and i do not see ANY fowl or abusive language, i feel that forum members are adult & would not use abusive language to other members or groups of individuals.

I know where your coming from Stevie, but the above would not appear to reflect reality, several threads have been removed lately for various reasons, but all can be categorised as abusive/discriminatory, here's one example: http://www.lotuselancentral.com/forum/v ... sc&start=0

Not to mention the Medina Month thread and the general tone of medina related posts up to that point.

The censorship has been targeted, rather than a broad sweep, and should any of the words you mentioned above be used then the mods are all able to edit any posts containing such phrases, and for a persistent problem further steps would be taken.

It appears our freedom of speach , so long one of our greatest attributes in this country, has been taken away. In this case i understand that the mods have there hands tied, although where it starts & finishes is a touchy subject.

Well, I think it is a good thing that we don't say gray - the whole thing made me feel a little bit queer - i wanted to go and buy a tube of crisps with my nine-bob-note - but when i looked, pouffe it was gone!


I just want to say that the above is intended to mock the PC decisions to ban/edit certain words on this forum, whilst leaving others intact. I am NOT advocating any homophobic action, and should i cause offence, then i am truly sorry, as the attack is against Political Correctness gone mad

Personally, i find blasphemy far more insulting, but it has become commonplace in the English language, as have far too many 'four letter words'.

Surely in this eloquent language of ours, there are quite enough good words to use without punctuating each sentence with an 'f' or 'c' word?
