2 1/4" s/s exhaust

Postby chrishewett » Fri 25.07.2008, 11:41

Having just had the engine and gearbox rebuilt I had the wastegate ported as I intended to fit a Peco exhaust. Now of course that is not going to happen.
Is anyone else currently offering a stock 2 1/4" exhaust?
I really need one soon as mine is on it's way out and it appears to be squashed to about an inch where it goes over the crossmember!
The garage where I had the engine sorted can fabricate one but I would think that the cost would be high.
Any suggestion would be gratefully received.

The PM stainless exhaust is 2.25" but it too is squashed where it bridges the cross member.
I can't recall if any of the other alternatives come sans squash - I fear not, but look forward to being corrected.
You may be pleasantly surprised by an aftermarket one-off build but be4 careful that the silence it sufficiently! If your wastegate has been ported to ~20mm it'll handle a 2.5" diameter exhaust too.

It's not looking very hopeful at the moment, but some time in the future they are likely to re-surface. It may be too long for you to wait, but put your name on the list by all means - if you do get sorted elsewhere, could you please update the list?

Unless they've changed the spec the Paul Matty stainless sports exhaust is 2.25" diameter - I have one.

Thanks for that. I will get back to PM but last week they told me they were 2". The guy even went and measured it himself.

I thought PNM Engineering bought a few of them off Peco. They were charging about £30 more but even at £330 they were still very good value.

I spoke to Pete at PNM today and he doesn't have any systems left. However he seems certain that peco will arise from the ashes at some time in the future.
I will await events!
