It really is a superb trailer and I can imagine your paranoia about it being stolen. That's why I always kept it in a locked compound with another trailer on top of it - both with wheel clamps on.

Hang on! I delivered the Fast Cat to you on that trailer, the roads are positively wide around your gaff!

It's still there! :-D

I sent you the long way. Remember going past Wycombe and turning round at junction 2?

Thanks for that Geoff! I'll have a go at that or just buy one the old fashioned way.

Still The Cat is in the workshop so I'll be busy with the rear panels for the next month. :-D

Phil,

Looking good on the 3D design :smt023

Just out of interest how come your going for the full roll cage? as i thought sprint/hill climbs etc don`t require it :? and a good rollbar/hoop would surfice :?
Even the Cars in the Elise racing don`t require a roll cage

The main reason for full cage was to stop anything hitting me in the face or decapitation. Elise 111 has a windscreen and frame which helps, the 211 has forward struts from the hoop (like my first design).

Because I have no wind screen and the Cast Aluminium - alloy windscreen frame, is prone to snapping on impact; I wanted some forward protection. This is in a lower grade FIA Tube than the hoop, so it's still quite light and being tubular it's strong and aerodynamic.

This car is not just for sprints and climbs.

As for the back end: Watch this space in a few months

Hannah and I went up to get the Cat last night. The Roll Cage has been built and welded in. It includes side impact protection, so those nasty doors can go! It's a full cage much like the latter of my sketches, welded and bolted to the tub and bolted to the chassis.

I now have the mammoth task of building a new front end, dash and back end.
I'll take some photo's when I can. :-D

Sounds good Phil, looking forward to seeing it at some stage, I take it Castle Combe this Saturday is now not an option for the fastcats first public appearance? Are you going to go anyway, as I have the Donington photos on a CD for you?

Sadly the car was 4 weeks late, so I don't have chance to get it driveable.
I have a spare place on track if anyone want's it? Nige

We are going to CC but I don't think it will be in a Lotus :( I need to take the Landie as we will be taking the little boy out in Wales on Sunday.

I hope to track the car soon, although I really need to do some airfield days to get everything running right. So much to do...

The design has evolved from this slightly, but generally this is where it's going.

Cool the brake and the very front is to increase flow through the Intercooler. Although the exact form these 3 sets of vents is still under consideration.

Front splitter design and induction intake design will be integrated to work together.

I'm planning on supercharging, but I need to see it will improve track times. I think it's the way to go.
