Forum Outage

Postby ailwyn » Sun 24.08.2008, 11:22

The forum will be going down at 7pm UK time in order to upgrade the forum software.

This is likely to take up to 3 hours to complete, but may be back sooner.

Don't forget that the chat facility will still be available here

Thanks

Re: Forum Outage - PLEASE READ

Postby ailwyn » Sun 24.08.2008, 21:30

Welcome to the upgraded Lotus Elan Central forum.

We hope you like the new look.

You may notice the site running a little slowly, this is due to some settings for debugging being enabled while we iron out any glitches. The plan is to turn these off in a week or so at which point the forum will be back up to full speed.

Topics that were unread previously may not be tracked properly due to the conversion, so anything that you had not read prior to the upgrade may not appear in the unread posts - this will work from now on, but if you are involved in any group buys etc please check the threads to ensure you've not missed any vital information/updates.

Report any issues you have with the upgrade here

Thanks

Cool. Thanks for your efforts.

Can you explain the round text type boxes to the left of topic headings and why some of them are scrolling?

That's a new phpbb3 feature, it uses the scrolling box icon to highlight a thread that has a lot of activity.
Not sure what the posts/day threshold is to qualify as highly active is off hand, but that's the idea anyway.

Cool.

How do you quote from a post like before? Or do you have to highlight, copy and paste?

Liking the look. Was a shock initially, thought there was something wrong with my PC, however, it seems smart and clear.

HI

Looks great, well done and thank you for your hard work.

Just one note, Is it worth putting a link to the "chat" on the top under the baner?

Just a thought as I didnt know the chat existed until you mentioned it

Dave,

I can only assume a level of sarcasm on Kier's part, but to view your own posts go to Profile then there is a link to see your posts.

Ailwyn,

I read this as Dave looking for the threads he started as opposed to all his posts! Don't know the answer though!

Dave.

Search for own posts, by topic

Here is the link to the search I think your after (same as was on the front screen of the old forum).

I'll look at getting this added to the front of the current forum.
