Door elbow recess trim

Postby JonM » Tue 16.09.2008, 21:39

Well I think thats what you call them. I have recently removed the door trim to fit new speakers as the old ones were not working very well but fearing the hardest job was to remove those damn orange things it turned out that the removal of the trim in the elbow recess area was the biggest challenge.

They had been stuck in with some sort of permanent sticky thing and when they finally came out they came out in lots of little bits. Ive got nice new speakers but the doors look a little bare! Ive looked around but it appears you cant find replacements anywhere.

Is this really the case?

Unfortunately, I think it is. Try breakers. There are probably a few being broken somewhere.

Are you referring to the leather clad oval pieces that sit just behind the door pull?

IIRC when I asked about seat retrims...I think Mel said they still had some lying around......
might be worth dropping Mel@lotus a line.....
the email is on this site somewhere......do a search for Mel Broome

Yes they are, but are now lying in pieces in a corner of my garage! Mine were the cloth versions having a car with half leather.
