Postby r19 » Sun 28.09.2008, 18:17

Some moron has tried to get my bonnet badge off with a screwdriver and bent it and broken the enamel. The car is a series 2.The underside of the bonnet has two black rubber cylinders attached to the badge.I am struggling to get these off and when i do will the badge release also are these rubbers available to fit a new badge

Sounds to me like someone placed the protective rubber cylinders back on the two threaded posts to hold your badge on! All 3 M100s I've owned had nuts threaded onto these posts holding the badge on.
Strive for perfection in everything. (given time)
Take the best that exists & make it better. (given inclination)
If it doesn't exist, create it. (God did)
Ignore what I say. (good advice)

Hi,

When I replaced my badge, I put 2 rubber washers between the body, and the nuts, tighten against the rubber, to hold the badge tight without pulling it into the paint.
