At those prices (was shipping and taxes included?) you'd be better off having some custom wheels made in the exact offset of +60. My 10RL2 JLine wheels will be arriving in about 4 weeks. I'll have paid about $2,000 USD for them (pre tax and shipping).

Not bad idea, but it seems that yours are in 17" , I would like to stick to 16" but it doesn t seem to be available from JLINE in RL ?

That's possible. I didn't look at which models they had in 16" as I was only interested in going to 17". Maybe they have some 16" models you might like?

Who did you speak to for your wheels at Jline ?
Is your car an early Elan or S2 ? I would love to go for 17" but I was told that it was not the best solution for early Elan ?

Mine's an SE. You can't deal with JLine directly - you'll have to deal with one of their resellers. I dealt with Rob Rohn at Vivid Racing.

The wheels are shipping tomorrow. I'm guessing a week for delivery as I didn't want to spend the cash on overnight courier. I'll take pics of the wheels when they arrive and then when I get tires on them and installed on the car.

Ok, here's some pics of the wheels out of the box and fitted to the car without tires to ensure they fit. The hub centric rings are PERFECT. Unfortunately, they only shipped 2 of the 4 wheels I ordered :smt017

So, it may be a little while longer before I can take some pics with them all installed.

They shouldn't look any more bling than the current chromed stock wheels that are on the car. I hope. But yes, lots of room for weights, calipers, etc. in there.

Ok, so the missing 2 wheels arrived today and I am taking them in Saturday morning to have the tires put on. So, hopefully I will be able to post some pics of them fully installed along with a weight comparison. I have 2 things to do first though.

1) Polish and coat them with Zoop
2) Modify the basic wheel center by adding hood/bonnet badges (which I picked up or a steal) to give them that "Lotus" wheel center look

The Zoop isn't here yet :roll:

So don't hold your breath for pics this weekend.

Blair, I missed these pictures. These are truly beautiful wheels! Am I correct in reading JLine custom-made them with a +60 offset as required?

Hi Doug, yup.......+60 offset. They use a hub centric ring as their hubs are about 70mm or something. The hub centric rings fit perfectly. I thought that for that price, for custom forged wheels, they were great value for wheels with all the right dimensions.

I'm "Zooping" them now and they need 24 hours for the sealant to cure. We're out tomorrow so I might not get pics up until Monday (which is our Thanksgiving holiday).

Ok, here's some pics of the wheels installed. The tires are not cleaned or dressed however. That's tomorrow's chore. There's a before and after shot too. I've taken the car out for a quick spin and noticed 2 things.

Yes, the ride is a little harsher. Its feels as if the tires don't quite "give" as much over bumps as compared to the 16 inch wheels. That's to be expected with lower profile tires. Is it too harsh? Depends on what you like. I prefer a harder ride in this car. Its not so hard as to make the car uncomfortable to drive but you can tell the difference. The second thing was a bit of a surprise though. The steering feels lighter. As in a good way. The car turns very quick and easy now as compared to turning with the 16 inch wheels. I like the change.
