Cross-Shaft Springs

Postby Ultimatt » Mon 27.10.2008, 11:51

Hi guys,

My gear selector has developed a fault whereby it does not centralise when moving up from 2nd, or dropping down from 5th. I can select all gears without problem, but have to manually move it between the gates and through neutral.

I've determined that either one, or both of the cross-shaft springs have 'gone' so need to source a replacement. Without me removing the selector assembly, does anyone know where a replacement can be acquired, or know the spec of the springs so I can do a search for an alternative?

Cheers

Matt

I would very much recommend checking the selector box first, its a 10mins job to take off and a matter of minutes to strip. (Less with practice as Enright can attest after my recent troubles). I've no idea about the replacements if that truly is the case but its always worth checking first.
