Ordered a new set of Torque Master plugs, http://www.extremespark.com/. You want DIS plugs with the narrow-gap for forced-induction cars, plug number *SVFN7GR. The * is called the star-series and is for DIS ignitions. These plugs last forever (they last longer than we will!) and cannot be gapped by design. The wear is slow due to spark not being concentrated at the tip of an electrode.

Yes, at $44 + $11-shipping they're expensive. But how many things can you screw once then forget about forever? The perfect sparkplug. For me, its another Elan... another set of Torque Masters. The white car still has the original set I bought for my red car!

I have lots of stuff plated or powder-coated, but the car is still at speed-shop. Always another excuse from them. I finally have time to work, but now no car!

New exhaust, custom exhaust tip. Let me know what you think. No harm as it is only press-fit hammered-on, and can be easily removed.

R134a refrigerant is a joke on a car not designed for it. It seemed fine 3 months ago but only cools when you're moving 20mph+ consistently. That just doesn't work in Florida. I'm converting it back to R12. Keep that in mind if you're thinking of buying an M100 with a converted system.

Car hits the boost-cut readily now. Lots of work ahead of me. However, there is no denying the exhaust works!

Not as good, IMHO.

How's this one?? It would give the car that cool chirpy whistling sound that really turns heads.

Just showing how I removed the lesser of the two words. That's just bare metal between the blue tape. It will get Powder Coated black. Toyed with the idea of JH but I think that'd be too bling.

Scratch that. It'll be yellow. There. I've made up my mind for good! Simple, monotone, and matching. Shiny touches are all the highlights necessary. Cleanliness of line, cleanliness of line, cleanliness of line.

Anyone have or know how to get one of the grey (S2) transducer covers/protectors in lieu of the SE red one?

1. Matt, don't forget to grind down the other two screw holes that project up and do not connect to anything -- they can be ground flush with the top deck!!

2. for the boost transducer, I'd think you would need to whole part off a dead S2 most likely

Matt, I read through the Torque Master site. There's lots of people out there claiming they have plugs that will increase performance. I'm interested in hearign your unbiasd opinion on whether these do add any power as per their claims (+16 hp on their test bed Ford engine) over the Iridium NGK plugs or any other plugs. I've just installed Iridium plugs so changing them again for the sake of longer life isn't of value to me. But, if it can have the same impact on our engine as on their test engine (would be roughly 8 hp) then it might be worth while. Of course, they don't say what condition the plugs or engine were in befroe they swapped them  On a well maintained engine with new plugs the torque master may have almost no improvement.

p.s. If you grind off the 2 threaded nubs as Doug suggests you may have to use some metal filler as I believe they are tapped deeper than flush to the surface.

Blair, I didn't care about increasing performance. I got the plugs as I could not find a "happy" plug gap that worked at both idle speed and under the pressure of boost plus nitrous. This plug cured both conditions.

The only way a plug can add power is if it burns (ignites) a larger percentage of the fuel. Look at it as a chemical reaction with an incomplete yield. The plug is the catalyst. Some catalysts are better at promoting reaction amoung their products. As the Torque Masters do not 1) Cause bog when 50HP of nitrous & fuel are dumped in, and 2) Allow for a smooth idle; i'd say they are successfully promoting a more complete combustion. Although it was not my goal to gain horsepower, the evidence supports the theory that I did.

To whomever asked me how I got the (8mm) plug wires to come out straight here's your non-answer. It fits 3 wires but not 4. I sectioned out enough on my WIP (work in progress, for you non-manufacturing sector types) cam cover to fit 4 abreast. You'll want to widen it by .25" - I took it off the front as that is more of a straight-line for the wires without encountering an obstructing object.

Removed a couple more parts to drop by the powder coater on Monday. A little cleanup also done. The shifter linkage accordian hose was cleaned right after I shot this picture. I've got to order more Griot's rubber cleaner.

I am pleased with the color of the "bright" (93%) zinc paint which came in two days ago. It is the color of hot-dip galvanising instead of the dull gray which all other high-zinc-content sprays have.

Hear are the calipers with their vinyl "LOTUS" transfers on. I think I'll coat these with ceramic clear; moreso to protect the naked machined aluminium "WILWOOD" lettering than the vinyl xfer. My old xfers have already held up 7 years now! You do have to be careful not to take a brush to them. Common sense really.

Instead of coating the entire caliper with ceramic clear, should I instead get some yellow caliper paint and paint the WILWOOD lettering a similar shade of yellow?

Why not file the "Wilwood" off, re-spray black, and then add the yellow lotus logo (that would look cool)
