In the March edition of this magazine there will be a feature comparing the M100 with an Alfa Spider. I spent most of Saturday having my S2 photographed on an abandoned airfield in Lincolnshire, alongside a very nice 2.0 Spider. Hopefully the article will show the M100 in a good light, even though the Spider was 7 years younger! Having said that, I wouldn't have swapped cars with him.
It was a shame he chose the wettest day of the year to photograph what he called "two of the prettiest cars he's snapped all year".
The magazine will be in the shops in Mid February. I'll post a couple of pictures when I get them.

Briggsy,
They've delayed the feature, I guess?

Dunno mate, Mag should be out in the next week or so but I've not heard a thing since the photoshoot.
He said he'd send me a copy so I'll let you all know when it arrives. I told him to check out LEC and make sure he gave us a name check!
Cheers,
Briggsy

I've driven 3 different late-model Alfa Spiders, including the LAST new car he had on the lot in 1996 (a 1995 model). I agree they look fabulous (the 19991 - 1995 cars), however they drive like what they are, a car introduced in 1966. I honestly don't see how you can compare these 2 cars.
PS, if the Alfa had driven like a sports car my motorized life might be VERY different!
Strive for perfection in everything. (given time)
Take the best that exists & make it better. (given inclination)
If it doesn't exist, create it. (God did)
Ignore what I say. (good advice)

The Elan/Alfa Spider feature is in the issue of Classic Car Mart that's just hit the shelves.
Nice looking car you're got there, Briggsy.

Serial Elan owner: 2002 - 2012. I may yet buy another one...

Thanks! I've not seen the article yet, or any of the photo's for that matter. It was the coldest/wettest day of the year, or at least it felt like it stood around an old airfield while he took his pictures, didn't stop the roof coming down though

Spiderman wasn't having any of it though! I hope LEC gets a good mention, I told him to check it out and give us a namecheck. Must dash out and get a copy, or ten!

Giving this a bump as my Elan is now for sale, I will post more recent pictures in the Cars for sale section in due course.

I'd forgotten about this photo shoot, only the second time the car has been out in the rain. Car is for sale again, unless I change my mind, again!
