Steering rack removal

Who's removed the steering rack then ?

Mines ready to come out, (in theory) all disconected...

The car is on axle stands... So i can't disconect the pongeron...

Oh.... it's the project car as well, so I have more acess than I know what to do with...

But it's that lower UJ spline how do you get it out of the tub...

A pic to show how much access I have...

Couldn't you move the axle stands to the jacking points just behind the A-panels and then remove the prongeron?

Would that give enough room....


I'll have to put some bolts back in the tub that hold it onto chassis...

The tub is so weak thou and to top it off the front jacking points are failing.... Ummmm

Removing the Prongeron would enable me to remove the exhaust as It won't seperate...

I just hoped there was another way...

With a propper M100 you need to remove the Prongeron lol, don`t forget you need to remove the pinch bolt completely from the top UJ and it might help by undoing the steering column to give you some movement to have a pull

The steering column's removed, the UJ's released, the rack's ready to come out, (Round peg in square hole, I just can't get it out)

I guess I'll just have to bite the bullet and take the Prongeron out, then put it back in once I'm done.... We don't want those front wheels spreading do we....

I did a search earlier and saw that thread, but only read it thru half way.... .... and thought nope that doesn't help, but it sorta of does...

On your car you might be able to see which colour wire is going to terminal 6 on the rheostat module and what route it takes to get there.

I want to change the wire for one from the side light circuit... somewhere where it’s easier to get to than under the dash.
