Halfords advanced 64pc socket set -- £40 --

was in halfords today and picked up a set of these for £40 if you bought the bits seperately it would cost a fortune, theyre realy good bits of kit and currently reduced, its the first socket set ive not broken using all my strength (they either round off inside or sometimes just snap) its a 1/4 and 3/8 combination, which goes upto a very handy 24mm. more details here

Good post. I expect they still have the lifetime guarantee?

I've had my Halfords set for over 10 years. I did break the 3/8 ratchet and they replaced it (though they are not supposed to)

I also broke the 3/8 extension and they replaced that.

I often borrow my sons 1/2" drive halfords set - now that IS a decent bit of kit for the serious enthusiast ...

I looked at thoses kits, but just couldn't justify getting more tools...

I seem to break all my tools and they change them without any hassle (with or without receipt)

The set i got is called the professional extreme socket set 64 piece, but i think thats just a rename. I think the origional price was £80 but as i said theyre £40. what tempted me was the ultra slim head, and the 72 tooth precision ratchet, both of which come in very handy working in the confined spaces of our cars. Yes they do have a lifetime guarantee.
The 3/8 and 1/2ratchet handles alone retails at £27 and £19 respectivley. BARGIN
