I think Montys 2 tone look the best so far, maybe with a slightly different centre MMMMMMM more blue tinge to the gray more gun metal maybe, I have a motarola v3 in the colour I was thinking,

If I remember correctly, I asked for the same thing to be done on a MEDINA car I nearly bought a while back. And you all went nuts! Not because of the Medina but for the sheer fact that they were painted to match the car.
I said that Porsche do it all of the time and I got hit back for that and given a reason that that was all the more reason not to do it.
Ha, ha... You lot... Ha, ha...

to be honest if i were you id stay away from anything thats not relativley accepted (ie that manfuactures use), i think that leaves... silver, anthracite, gold, or if you realy must white. i cant see gold or white looking right so its down to silver or anthracite, or varieties there of. The reason i was looking at anthracite was because it blends with the tyres and hides the wheel, it wont show up brake dust as much and i think with the right colours it can realy look good, silk red looks like the best ive seen on an elan. what im trying to say is the elan is a subtle car with a certain charisma and i think if you went too bling it just wouldnt look right. (i would like to point out that im in no way a purist).

now that ive got the hang of it, if you want examples photoshopped just ask, single colours quite easy, coloured buttercups doable, special effects like you mentioned youd need someone who knows what theyre doing with photoshop.

I agree they are a good looking wheel, but as I am looking to get them refurbed, it is worth considering changing the colour, If i don't like it, it doesn't cost the earth to have the colour changed back. (live with it for a couple of summers and then tell the wife they need redoing )

I have been quoted £50 for tyre removal, shot blasted, powder coated and tyre refitting and balance.

I have been advised that powder is longer lasting than spray.(quote, "I recommend powder coating,I dont spray wheels anymore as it does not work in the long run"

not sure about the powder coat.....Id go for paint any day of the week....
with powder I reckon 1 chip and the whole thing will flake off eventually...leaving you with a nasty oxidised alloy....
just my preference....and as TWR stated...only available in a small selection of colours...probably no silver just a grey colour....
like the idea of flip paint.....
you can also get silver with a hint of.....what ever colour you fancy
