Howdy Gents,
So i'm starting this thread to gauge interest as well as get some input on doing this for the ROW Elans. I need a couple of things.
1 a good photo of the trunklid latch area including the small metal insert
2 a pair of ROW eyebrows so that I can gauge and mould the difference from the Fedaeral mould
3 dimensions of the EU plates
4 a firm comitment from at least 3 but no more than 6 people that would be interested.
Photos of the Federal version as well as the plate light can be found on the other thread. There may be an additional run at a later date but with limited time comes limited production

Marie,
Definitely interested in this thanks. I will take some photos, measure the plate and post them. I can't help with the eyebrows without removing them from my car. I'm sure someone will come up with a set soon, if not I'll remove mine and send them to you.

Hi Marie,
Happy to comitt right now, likewise if we can't find a spare set of eyebrows then I would be happy to remove them from my car.

No worries. When you get the chance. I'm still waiting on the second batch of silicone to be shipped

Sadly enough it was lotus that made that distinction. I guess they're still bitter over the whole tea thing

it's all good though. I'm Irish. Makes up for a bit.

I have some Eyebrows that aren't being used as I have different model of Elise conversion fitted. I would like them back as I still have origonal lights.
I am offshore till Mon 9th Feb
So would not be able to do anything till then.
Cheers

That will work out well as I will be starting the FED run about then. The ROW will be started shortly after. I still need photos of the latch area and one of the eyebrows on the car.
Just a fun little bit. I've made quite a few of the Lighting units. I only have 4 of the LED modules done up though. the rest will be done shortly. Finished units lookk like the ones with the wires coming out.

LGM : send me an email at fvc AT telenet.be with pictures of your car. I mean the angles and details you want.
I will send you a message with exact the same pictures/angles of my car.
Hope this helps!
Fred.

Marie, I'll take the photos I promised and post them as soon as I can. With the weather we are having at the moment (for this part of the world) even getting to the car is entertaining. I also have a few important family things on the go which put anything I need to do on the car on the back seat. I may not get a chance to get the photos until this weekend.

Ok, heres the photos of the eyebrows, boot lid latch area and the blanking piece. From the picture posted in the Federal thread it looks identical to the Federal version.
The dimensions of the rear plate are 52.5cm x 11.3cm which I make as 20 5/8" x 4 3/8"
If you need more pictures let me know, I have these and some others as bigger files.

So from the pics, the eyebrows are about what I expected. The minor issue may be the plate light area. The FED cars have a metal plate that covers the access to the key solonoid that uses one screw to hold it in place. A minor amount of trimming may be neccessary to make the new module fit. Ailwyn, I can't post you one to see if it would be feasible. I've made up about a dozen or so of the plastic bits so far. They just need to get finished up.

Marie, the oval rubber blank in the boot lid photo covers a rectangular shaped hole, I'll take another picture with the blank removed when I get a chance. The interior shape of the boot lid looks identical to that of the federal cars from the pictures in your federal thread. Even if a little bit of fettling is required I don't see that as a problem.

Ailwyn, that was meant to read I CAN send you one of the finished pieces to test fit.
Also gents it has been brought to my attention that another LECer had done a significant amount of work on his rear valance setup. As not to step on anyones toes as I promised I will close the list. I never wanted to make many more than 5. At some point in the future there may be another run and as I said, I was contacted by another individual whom had stars he had developed a version as well. Hopefully they will be posting soon.
On an up note, I just recieved the last of tv moulding materials. With alittle time and no emergency calls from work to go flying I should have the FED mould 100% finished in the coming week or so. I also ordered quite a bit of Carbon fibre. As stated on the FED thread there will be two versions for the valance. One all glassfibre and one with a carbon insert for the reg. plate area. As soon as I get the FED run going I'll make a ROW variant. Only major diff being the eyebrow area. More updates to come as they become available
