Hi
Can anyone provide me with a suggestion as to how I should go about replacing the rubber diaphragm that goes under the seat cushion?
I have the replacement part, but the thing seems to be so tightly stretched that I've not yet dared remove the old one! I just can't see how it's meant to be installed. So far I've only taken the seat out and turned it over to have a look from underneath - I've not dismantled the seat in any way.
Would this also be a good time to replace the foam seat cushion, assuming it's still available, as it is rather old now and probably a bit saggy!?
Thanks
Ben
PS Sorry - I just realised that I put this in the wrong forum!

I need to replace one of mine too. When I was installing the new seat covers, I had to fashion a home-made diaphagm, and putting on was a beotch. It took a lot of prying and leverage with a couple of large flat-head screwdrivers, and a lot of cursing. I'm having a local shop do some rebuilding of the cushions on my drivers seat (the one that needs the new diaphragm), and they said they can fix it for me. I'm more than happy to let them. You might consider taking it to somebody too. They'll have experience with different types of seats, and can probably do it pretty easily.

The
heated seats upgrade write up is a good place to start.

I don't think the foam seat cushions are still available. Some, I believe, have inserted a sheet of hardboard or ply between the rubber diaphragm and the cushion to add support. One thing I have done to reinforce the foam cushion is to partially "wrap" the cushion with upholsterers webbing (the fabric type) held in place with spray contact adhesive. (Make sure the adhesive is suitable for use with foam though!)
