Thought you would have got the hang of the list thingy principle by now  Shipping to the US may be a bit pricey though.

isnt the shipping not up to lotus?
thought it was a case of place the order via the group buy and then collect from your nominated lotus dealer....:)

I've ordered from the Aftersales list before. It is exactly the price stated online by Lotus, with no additional shipping fee added. It has come directly to my local Lotus dealer in Jacksonville, Florida, USA. The local dealer simply called me by telephone when it arrived, using the information I supplied to Lotus on the internet Aftersales form.

It is a far better deal than special-ordering a part from the local [insert name of any car company] dealer. Doing that, you have to pay in advance. The Lotus way, you only pay the dealer AFTER your parts arrive and you go to pick them up.

The previous boxed ones I've seen from Lotus came with BBS valves already fitted - worth checking it out.
What's the deadline on this? I might be in for 4 next month - if I still have a job :(

Hi everybody...

I'm afraid I have had some bad news for those across the pond...

I have been told by Lotus that they will be unable to extend this deal to outside the UK as these alloys are not a 'factory surplus stock' item. Any deal for this part will have to go through the relevant importer, in the case of the USA, 'Lotus Cars USA'.

I'm really sorry, but this looks like a UK delivery only deal, unless you can persuade your local importer to mirror the UK.

I should have checked this with Lotus before I started this thread, and I feel awful to let people down...

I will edit the list if that is OK...

PS, I am lead to believe that there are no 'extras' included with the alloys, i.e. just bare alloys

PPS, for those still in, I anticipate placing the order next week, I will PM those on the list this week-end for confirmation.

Have a good day all

DaveB

I had a feeling that would happen. Shipping would be £200-400 for a set from UK to USA.

It's worth checking with Algirdas - after all, he has shipped the odd bodyshell, chassis etc. etc. and may be shipping a pair of seats, a fuel tank & a roll cage back when he's over for Donington.

Dave,
Much, much gratitude for looking into this and getting back with us.
Shipping via boat or delivery via Lotus North America, it's all the same to me. I'm just not going to get caught without parts again. . .ever.
I'll ask my local Lotus dealer about it and get back with the group. If it's something that they can do, let's do it. I should post something in a few days.
Cheers!

We have enough numbers to qualify with the present list...no worries there.

Are you looking to reduce your order perhaps?
If so, should not be a problem, if necessary, as I will be collecting from the same dealer as you, I can just add your order to mine. :-)

Or

Are you looking to increase your order? .... a couple of dozen should not be a problem :-D
