And the maths doesn't work out anyway........ 15% VAT on 264 = 39.6, and on 216 = 32.4.

Even if the prices were when VAT was 17.5% it doesn't work..........

....(I can't remember VAT ever having a rate of 16.12% or 31.52%....

..........and an S1 OZ wheel is £50 all in from aftersales

Luckily I'm a mathematician by trade, so the calculations took less time in my head than typing them into the (wrong) post :-D

Go and play on your own thread you three!

The heater valve is there to stop the hot coolant reaching the heater matrix when the temperature is set low, so you stay nice and cool in the Summer. The OEM HV is a cheap bit of metal which a) restricts the water flow making the heater inefficient during Winter and b) rusts, falls apart and dumps coolant everywhere.

There are still four more available for £10 if anyone is interested - e-mail me at the address below.

There is only one major debtor left. :poke: If the last four sell and you still haven't paid then it will be first come first served.

Even though I said at the start of the thread I wouldn't be posting in the UK, quite a few additional people have asked for theirs to be posted! Image Other than the few exceptional cases that I agreed to before people committed, I'm sorry but I don't want to do this and I haven't kept a record of who has asked. However, my daughter has agreed to do it for a small fee - the cost of postage is about £1.50 so if you are interested, send me a minimum of £2.50 plus your address.

Sorry Geoff, I'll still take the valve and will collect at Donny. I'll try and sort out payment soon enough so as not to keep you waiting.

Graham, don't worry, I realised your mind has been on other things and I didn't consider you as a debtor - there has been one with your name on since your accident. I guess it's good news that you're still buying it as you're obviously serious about a replacement Elan.

Geoff,
I've just done the payment online, it should leave my account on the 16th (Monday). The payee reference should be self explanatory.

Apparently sold out, however non-payment does no guarantee that I will keep one aside for you forever.

Picked mine up at Donny, thanks Geoff - it won't sit in my attic, honest. It might reside in the shed for a few weeks while I get those Hi-Spec brakes fitted.

Nice to meet you again and have a chat.

Are those LEF photos on-line yet??

I decided to change the SE's heater valve today...

There wasn't anything wrong with the old one...

A 10 minute job to change or so I thought....

Where's the other bit...

it was jammed in the heater pipe...

Several pipes had to come off and one system flush later

Doh...10 mins in to an hour...

Cheers again Geoff

Smaug's looked just like that. Yep, at this point there are only two kinds of Elan heater valves: those what have been changed and those what are failed in place. If anyone has a clean original in their cooling system, my hat's off to you.
