Can I read fault codes with Elanscan

Got the EML flash on for a second or 2 on the way back from Donny, the engine was misfiring at the time. I know the paper clip method will give me a fault code but I'm sure someone mentioned once that they had read the fault codes with elanscan. If this can be done can anyone tell how to get these codes using ES. Any comments as usual gratefully received.

Yes. Fault codes are available under the PROM ID - expand them to see which ones are set.

yes its been changed. I went to Donny without problem. On the way back engine faultered for a bit and then continued. Then then engine died for a second then continued ok. The engine was running fine and the EML came on for a couple of seconds (even though engine seemed to be running normally). Thereafter no more problems. Back to the drawing board! Just going out now to check things through and will let you know.

Thanks Dave/John/ESM, got a code 34 MAP sensor. OK the car is running fine at the moment, so at idle i've given every pipe and electrical connector associated with the MAP sensor a good wiggle. The car ran fine thru all that abuse which suggests that the air pipe is sound. When everything has cooled off a bit i'll undo the electrical connectors and given them a squirt of WD40. Does anyone know if the MAP sensors fail in an intermittent fashion because that will be the next thing?
