Plug leads - current concensus?

Just had a lovely set of leads and plugs delivered. Do you still have to use a feeler gauge to set the plugs up or are they pre set? A & M

Depends what type/make they are.

They are supposed to come pre-gapped, but it always bears checking as you can't be sure that the electrode, sat like it is out there on the end, didn't get an accidental 'shove' on some fatefull occasion.

A&M, if you bought the iridium ones, you do not gap them !, they are preset & you will damage the electrode if you try & gap them, however, if you bought normal plugs, you may gap as normal

We bought the iridium ones so no need for the feeler gauge then. Good job i haven't got any, anyway. A & M

What is dielectric or boot grease? Will copper slip do when changing plugs and leads. Do you put it just on the pointed bit and each ends of the leads? A & M
