Dear Elan Se peps
Hi I have a problem ? my Elan Se has been parked up all winter, but the heater system is not working now ? the fan blows fine but i can not control the temp or the flow of air ? i have found some vac pipes under the bonnet that have been eaten ...... which i need to replace first , but which pipe goes on what bit of the engine ? HELP... any other thoughts ?

Replace vacuum lines, and check or better replace heatervalve while you're at it

how old is the car?

If you have a look at this thread i put some pictures in it which helps to show where some of the pipes go!
It is really the ones on the intake plenum (engine) end, but might give you a few clues for any of the eaten ones.

Hi its a 1990 Turbo in red with aircon...i know the red its very important..

dapinky has hit the nail on the head...
IIRC aircon systems have may have an extra vacum pipe that goes to a flap on the heater motor inlet, this pipe runs under the dash thou...
